Ittoqqortoormiit

In Eastern Greenland, you will find the town of the "Big House Dwellers," or "Ittoqqortoormiit" in the Eastern Greenlandic dialect. There is a surprising variety of life to be found in this icy climate.
Musk Ox, Polar Bear, Stoat, and Black-Headed GullIt is a good place to see the Aurora Borealis.Looks a little cold to me, though.

  1. Seems cool to me. (Get it? Cool?) Sorry. It wasn't supposed to start out that way. I have to know. Is it Big-House Dwellers or Big House-Dwellers. And, knowing that, I'll want to know why it is whichever one it turns out to be. Both would be interesting, though the latter probably more so.

I'm not sure what a Stoat is, but it sounds delicious. Sign me up.

  2. I think it looks lovely in the summer picture - sort of like Alaska. Nice place to visit (about 2 specially chosen days of the year) but I wouldn't want to live there. I agree with the TOO COLD comment (she said as she prayed that the outdoor thermometer would register a positive number in the double digits sometime today... sigh). By the way - what the heck with that NAME??? Breaking all the rules I learnet in me scholish.

  3. I liked the name. That was one of the reasons for choosing this destination.
